ABOUT OUR PHILANTHROPY

Arthritis

Alpha Omicron Pi’s international philanthropy is arthritis, and our philanthropy partner is the Arthritis Foundation. Since 1967, members and chapters have raised millions of dollars to fund research, provide resources, and support those affected by arthritis, a disease that disproportionately impacts women and also affects children.

AOII’s philanthropy dollars support several impactful Arthritis Foundation initiatives, including the Juvenile Arthritis Power Pack program, Juvenile Arthritis Camps, the Juvenile Arthritis Family Summit, and the 24/7 Helpline. Our Canadian sisters proudly support The Arthritis Society of Canada, furthering our shared mission to fight arthritis and improve lives.

OUR Local Efforts

Alpha Omicron Pi is proud to support the Arthritis Foundation, our national philanthropy, through events that raise awareness and funding for arthritis research. Serving others and making a positive impact in our community are important parts of our chapter values, and we are committed to supporting causes that make a difference. Each year, our chapter hosts Spike Out Arthritis, a volleyball tournament that brings together students, friends, and community members to support the Arthritis Foundation. We also participate in Run for the Roses, one of AOII's signature philanthropy events, which helps raise funds and awareness for arthritis research and those affected by the disease. In addition to supporting the Arthritis Foundation, our chapter proudly supports the Bulloch County Animal Shelter. Through volunteer work, donations, and community outreach, we strive to help local animals find safe and loving homes. These philanthropic efforts allow our sisters to give back while strengthening the bonds of sisterhood and service.
